Western Star Trucks

For the last month or so at RTT I've been working on a sweet project we were tasked to do for Western Star Trucks. It was a nice change of pace to do work on trucks instead of cars. I got a lot of experience doing camera setup for all angles and another opportunity do do some lighting.

I personally did the lighting and rendering for the Reveal Image.  The original silhouetted image of the truck was done by fantastic CG artist Dave Hudson.

For the other shots I assisted by rendering out shadow, matte, and occlusion passes. For all of those shots, Cy Kelcavic and Conor Fitzgerald executed the Lighting, adding the Material Shaders and Passes. Rip Evans, Aaron Brothers, Matt Sommerfield and Jeff Bergmann did retouching on all shots.

It was great to be a part of this job.  Its too bad I didn't get a shot of the countdown screen that was a constant reminder of how long we had left to finish this.

The Making of A Model Sheet: Otis Spatulus

Alright!  I'm back for another shot at making model sheets for my future comic series "The Adventures of High-Speed Waffle-Man".  So here is my WIP.

If I hadn't said it before, model sheets can be challenging.  Drawing "on model" is harder than it looks.    Little by little, I'm replacing old drawings with some new ones and refining my schtuff.

I referenced some sick model sheets from the new ThunderCats cartoon series on Cartoon Network, to build my template for my model sheets. Check em' out!

The model sheet that I designed is a mixture of the Thundercats style and some model sheets I saw from reference for some Disney and Warner Bros. characters as seen below.

Overall I'm pleased with the result but I do notice things I'd like to improve. Anyhow, thanks to you for checking it out!  Peace.
